The Forum Speeches
It is necessary to establish a permanent working table in which the government, the region and the municipality, supported by those who wish to contribute, work on a concrete agenda with a vision for 2050, guided by a broad vision and intermediate objectives for 2030 and 2040, starting the activities immediately. Our mission is to promote a model of organic development and revitalization of the capital to reclaim urban voids and attract investment.
Rome's distinctive dimensions are often underestimated. Its industrial dimension, with high-tech hubs such as the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, its international dimension, with its diplomatic representation surpassing that of many cities, and its knowledge dimension, with more than 15 universities. Rome is a national concern. The Government stands alongside the city to work with a strategic vision and prepare for the major events that await it, just as the Ministry of Economy stands alongside the Foundation and all those committed to the capital's development.
We are recognized worldwide as producers of quality excellence, and the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy ensures that our products are not only well-made but also sustainable. We have created a regulatory framework and a specialized structure for fast-track investment lines dedicated to foreign investors. One of the largest American investment funds has certified Italy as the most attractive country in Europe.
We are channeling all possible resources into transforming Rome, recovering what was blocked through administrative simplifications, revising urban regeneration regulations, listening to the local community, and even developing unprecedented public-private partnerships. We have deployed more than €13 billion to transform this city's infrastructure, both tangible (roads, public transportation) and intangible (satellites, data centers, 5G, AI).
“The transformation of Rome will bring an added real estate value of 21 billion euros by 2030 and over 57 billion by 2050, much of which will be destined for new residential areas and offices, but also for large commercial spaces and logistics centers"
Roma è più competitiva in Europa. In 2021, it was fourth, now it has risen to second place. The impact of regeneration and transformation works in Rome could generate a monetization of up to 144 billion euros by 2050, of which 40 billion already in 2030.
Invitalia supports numerous investments, also financed by the PNRR, with various programs: the innovative program for the quality of living, the integrated urban plans, the Green Schools program, in addition to the calls for tenders for trams»
We've hosted the Ryder Cup, we host the International Tennis Championships, the Sette Colli swimming competition, and we'll soon host the European Athletics Championships. A city that knows how to attract more and more major events is a city that knows how to enhance its sports policies.
Poste Italiane has developed an integrated business plan that combines technological innovation with sustainability as a central pillar alongside economic and financial considerations. We have already opened thousands of construction sites throughout Italy and will continue, each in our roles, to work with local governments toward the ambitious goal of net zero by 2030.
«The investments for the Jubilee amount to almost 4 billion euros, aimed at the transformation of public transport (to which over 1 billion is destined), infrastructures, health services and the construction of some symbolic works»
«We have, between initiatives completed and underway, 7 large projects for a total value of 1 billion euros for the redevelopment of approximately 250 thousand square meters located in various parts of the city»
"Rome, with its network of universities, is unique in the international panorama. It is capable of gathering brains not only from the national territory but also from international excellences"
Urban regeneration involves preserving and enhancing the past to provide impetus for the future. If you don't look back, you can't look forward.
We will build the new Policlinico Umberto I with an investment of 500 million euros in four years
For the Jubilee, 155 million euros were invested in emergency rooms
We are investing 700 million euros in fire and earthquake protection for the Tivoli hospital
There is an important supply chain and Rome must be the driving force
"FS Sistemi Urbani and Roma REgeneration Foundation share the same values and vision for the regeneration and revitalization of urban areas. We are confident that our members will foster a constructive dialogue on the different themes of urban regeneration with the aim of identifying the best solutions to fully exploit the enormous potential of the city"
"Sony's CSL uses complexity theory, data science and artificial intelligence on Rome to bring out results that are useful for photographing the city today and also making a projection towards the future. The applications of technology and computational tools are multiple"
Acea is moving forward on important axes and making significant infrastructure improvements. It's great to see that different sectors are all moving in the same direction: the electrification of public transport, intermodality, the management of co-working spaces, and reducing environmental impact.
"Cinecittà can be structurally a representation of the efficiency of this city and a great attractor of foreign investments as well as a real point of connection between some qualities of our city: Rome is the city of cinema, of culture but also of technology"
"We are creating the ideal conditions to make the infrastructure sustainable for the territory. Fiumicino Airport will be a hub that will allow travellers to live complete experiences thanks to intermodality, a fundamental pillar of our strategy"
We joined the Roma Regeneration Foundation with the conviction that we could offer added value to an important and influential initiative for the city, especially in highlighting the need to work collaboratively with all other public and private entities. We are also aware that only by sharing resources and ideas, fostering dialogue and collaboration with local and national governments, can we build an original vision for the city of the future on a human scale.
(Joint press release, January 26, 2024)
We're changing the technical regulations and simplifying the urban planning regulations. We want to provide those who want to invest in this city with clear timelines and rules.
We're a work in progress. There were 1,300 construction sites in November; today there are 1,500. That's 6,000 if you include public and private ones. It's a city that's back on track.
